Barn Owl Statue – Perched

The only owl with a face like this – the Barn Owl. And, it lives on ALL continents except Antarctica. It gets its name from residing in a lot of barns.

This Barn Owl statue is made of resin and has been hand painted. The owl is sitting on a piece of wood. You can see it’s long talons. If you’re wondering where the owl’s ears are – they are hidden under the feathers!

Did you know a barn owl’s flight is totally silent from take-off to landing? Why? The wings have feathers with very soft round edges, which means that they don’t make any noise at all when they “swoosh” and move.
